Floating above the green foliage of the rainforest, with shy Dusky Leaf Monkeys peeking from the canopy of the surrounding trees, The Pavilion at The Datai has a truly spectacular setting. And with soft Thai music in the background, permute tabletops, white orchids and the flickering light of candles, the atmosphere is just dreamlike.  

Repeatedly awarded by Malaysian Tatler for out-of-this-world culinary creations, The Pavilion is famous for its traditional Thai cuisine. The passionate Thai Chef, Donny Hemna, prepares each meal a la minute, using fresh Thai herbs, partially grown in his own garden. An advocate of healthy cuisine, he likes to keep salt, sugar and oil to a minimum, allowing the natural flavor of the ingredients to take central stage. The service is outstanding, and all dishes beautifully presented - whether in a gorgeous ceramic bowl on tiny legs, or on a hot plate covered with a cupper lid adorned with a carved wooden fish. 

Begin your evening with a crispy soft shell crab in Thai chili oil, or spring rolls with prawns and lemon grass. Popular main course is the stir-fried hand chopped beef sirloin with hot basil. Or if you are a fish lover, choose the delicious steamed snapper with garlic, lime, chili and lemon grass. Accompanied by rice with cashew nuts served in a pineapple, and Chardonnay from Barossa Valley available exclusively at The Datai - it is a symphony for your taste buds! The perfect finale? Juicy mango with coconut sticky rice sprinkled with sesame seeds or the famous water chestnut dumplings with shredded jackfruit and coconut syrup.
