Raised on stilts above the shimmering blue of the Andaman Sea and conceptualized by the renowned architect Bill Bensley as a vintage beach house, Kayuputi exudes an atmosphere of relaxed glamour while taking one’s breath away with panoramic ocean views.

Opening with a ritual creak, the antique entrance door from the grand Dutch embassy in Yangon reveals a spacious, airy interior. The sunlight entering trough French windows gently bounces off the white-washed wood paneling, creating such a unique atmosphere, the ‘white wood’ which translates as ‘kayu puti’ inspired the name of this exquisite dining venue.

The eclectic interior design surprises with theatrical feather-crowned chairs that dominate a private ‘peacock lounge’, designed in striking contrast to the classical ambiance of the main dining area and the beachy feel of the sundeck. And yet, like a golden threat, the omnipresent ocean theme unites the distinct spaces in a harmonious whole with antique amphorae overgrown by coral, chandeliers made of translucent Capiz Seashells and ceilings draped in a delicate fabric with hand-printed scallops.

Even the dining experience itself is orchestrated to pay tribute to the sea - with spring water served in blue-tinted glasses, an entrée presented on a plate reminiscent of an ocean wave, and a menu with an entire page dedicated to caviar.

The refined presentation and bespoke service beautifully complement the exquisite taste of Asian-inspired haute cuisine created by the Michelin-starred Executive Chef David Mottl. Whether a traditional European recipe incorporating fresh seafood from the Andaman Sea, or Australian wagyu beef seasoned with local spices - David loves to delight diners with a surprising fusion of both culinary worlds. His secret ingredient? A dash of passion and love for cooking :-)

Eager to book a table? Make sure you arrive in time for the spectacular sunset! Best enjoyed on the expansive hammocks piled with throw cushions, while sipping the signature ‘Sunset Cocktail’ that resembles with the rosella ice ball floating in a blend of tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and mango puree a red sun setting over an orange sky.

Ready to order entrée? Start with ‘Yellow fin tuna tartar with teriyaki sauce and mango salad’ or opt for ‘Wagyu beef with sesame, ginger, snow mushrooms and ponzu sauce’. When selecting your main course, consider the delicious ‘Andaman red snapper filet with wild broccoli, peanut crumble and champagne butter sauce’ or the ‘Herb crusted lamb loin with spicy merguez sausage ravioli, broccoli and white bean crème’. Best accompanied by a glass of chilled wine. With 270 labels to choose from, the perfect pairing is guaranteed.

When it comes to dessert, you simply have to try the ‘Passion fruit crème brûlée paired with bitter chocolate ice cream flavored with chili’. The perfect finale to a truly memorable dining experience!
