7 Wells Waterfall Langkawi

Located in the 450 - 550 million years old Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park with rock formations older than the Himalayas, the Telaga Tujuh Waterfall is one of the most magical places on the island.

Formed at the boundary between a Cambrian sandstone and late Triassic granite rocks, the magnificent waterfall is hidden deep in the jungle, embedded in dense tropical foliage.
Follow the rainforest trail, listening to a gentle humming that turns into a thundering sound as you reach the first platform. Falling over an edge 91 meters above your head, the wild water masses bounce off the rugged stony wall, filling the air with a powerful, life-affirming energy.
Enjoy the shade of the rainforest canopy as you climb another set of steps to reach the next platform.

This waterfall, situated near to Telaga Harbour is considered by many to be the most beautiful waterfall on Langkawi & has one of the legends of Langkawi associated with it. It is said that the wells, or pools at the very top of the falls are where Fairies come to bathe.

Approaching from Pantai Kok you find a small car park which has a RM2 charge for cars & RM1 for bikes, there are also a number of small shops selling drinks, clothing & food.

Temurun Waterfall

Temurun Falls - Air Terjun TemurunAir Terjun Temurun (Temurun Falls) is about halfway between the Crocodile Farm and the Datai Resort. Located in Gunung Machinchang Forest Reserve, about 42 km from Kuah town. This site boast of a spectacular waterfall which has a 30 m drop and has a idyllic pool at the bottom. The sound of clear spring water making its way from the top of the hills only serve to tempt visitors into having a splashing good time there. One will also enjoy the picturesque view along the way to Temurun waterfall.









Langkawi Waterfall (Manmade)

Langkawi Waterfall - ManmadeLangkawi Waterfall is located along the road to Datai Bay, just a short distance from Temurun Waterfall. It is unique as it flows over a 50-metre road cave tunnel. Driving through the tunnel, you can also see fascinating mini waterfalls, which complement the surrounding natural flora.

The cool, cascading waters of the 3-tier waterfall is indeed a refreshing sight.

The construction of the waterfall began in August 2003 and was completed 7 months later. At 66.92 meter, Langkawi Waterfall is the highest manmade waterfall in Malaysia, as certified by the Malaysia Book of Records in 2004.

The Langkawi Waterfall was the brainchild of former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. It is intended to showcase the lush beauty of Langkawi - although in an island of many waterfalls, adding an artificial one may not seem at all necessary.

The Langkawi Fall is made up of three tiers and using water from the Sungai Temurun River, is diverted and channelled manually to flow across the tunnel with the final tier levelling out to form a beautiful cascade.

Grottoes are constructed around the Langkawi Waterfall, which is beautifully landscaped. Swallows and bats have made home here and it is foreseen to house an even larger variety of wildlife in time to come.

Durian Perangin Waterfall

Durian Perangin WaterfallLocated a few km away from Padang Lalang, pleasant little waterfall reached via a short treck through the rainforest.

The Durian Perangin river coupled with an attractive 14-tier waterfall and its unique rock formation are the main attraction.

It is suitable for picnics, relaxing dips and recreation. It has a wide variety of flora and fauna that encompassed lowland dipterocarp forest. Every tier of the waterfall has its own natural attributes. The tracks natural surroundings is suitable for orienteering and other adventurous activities.
