Help Belinda to find a NEW place
for the iconic ARTS Café in Kuah
The ARTS Café in Langkawi Fair is forced to close to make way for new ‘Branded Outlet’ and will have to shut its doors for good unless a new location in Kuah can be found (if possible before May 31st).
Belinda Koh, café owner has been told by her landlord, Langkawi Fair Sdn Bhd, that the Arts gallery cafe has to be relocated to make way for a new branded outlet. The management has offered a new location (at the far end of the mall) to relocate Arts Café, which Belinda feels is neither suitable nor appropriate that it should have to move at all.
“We love this current location and have been here for the past 15 years, enjoyed the company of thousands of residents and visitors. We can’t understand why we have to move. The arts community will lose a valuable outlet for Malaysian art and my staffs and I will lose the friends and business we had worked so hard to build up over the years.”
To mark the sad ending, the outlet will be having an auction of their existing collection of art together with a farewell to all their loyal customers and staffs, this will be on the final weekend on 27th May, Fri.
Belinda Koh said: “We would love to continue with the café but unless we can find a suitable alternative, the shutters will come down for good on Sunday, 29th May 2016.”
She extended her deepest appreciation for the years of supports and friendships to all her customers and friends. Last but not least she still hopes to find a new location in Kuah to continue the café business and it will be a new and better Arts Café.
