TOURISM BOOST FOR LANGKAWI

Teaming up, TOURISM MALAYSIA and FIREFLY AIRLINES took initiative, inviting journalists and bloggers from all over the country in order to boost media coverage and consequently the number of domestic travelers visiting Langkawi! And while the stories are yet to be published, considering the amazing time the writers had, there is no doubt their narratives will be bursting with praise and excitement!
Aiming to share with the media the very best our island has to offer, Tourism Malaysia put together the perfect itinerary, blending exhilarating land and water based activities with world-class adventures in the air.
Starting with a leisurely CYCLING TOUR along idyllic paddy fields and traditional Malay kampungs, the journalist got later an adrenaline rush when conquering the jungle in ALL-TERRAIN QUADS (ATV) and embarking on a SKY-TREKKING adventure to fly, swing, glide and dangle on various aerial obstacles suspended above the lush tropical rainforest.
Departing from a local fisherman jetty, the group enjoyed KAYAKING IN THE MANGROVES, while later experiencing the beauty of the emerald green Andaman Sea on a GUIDED JET SKI TOUR and during a romantic SUNSET CRUISE.
While there was no consensus with regard to a favorite activity, experiencing Langkawi from the bird’s eye perspective was certainly one of the highlights – whether aboard a HELICOPTER or while PARASAILING, with the wind gently ruffling one’s hair.
Of course, the program left enough time to enjoy the island’s culinary scene. Whether traditional Malay delicacies served in a serene paddy field setting, fresh seafood savored at a fish farm or an exquisite fusion menu accompanied by a mesmerizing sea view – the food was so delicious, the writers were reluctant to put down their forks to take notes:-)
Leaving Langkawi with happy smiles and plenty of stories to tell, the journalists are sure to spread the word among thousands of readers who may be just planning their next weekend break or their annual holiday trip. After a rather disappointing ‘high’ season – just the news local business owners need to hear!
